Commencing in March 1994 as a Toowoomba based mobile mechanical business known then as Mick Tighe Diesel Repairs, a sole employee-based business has transformed into the business we know today with around 20 employees. The business was born out of a passion for 4WD's, adventure and a strong desire to build quality relationships & satisfaction with our customers.

Our expert term specialises in key areas of the 4WD industry, including Suspension, bull bars, towing, auto electrical, fuel tanks, trays and canopies, lighting, recovery gear, tyres, winches, vehicle servicing and complete 4WD Tourer Builds. We pride ourselves on expert advice, solutions & outcomes. A smiling customer at all points of their journey with us & out on the road is our main goal.

Mick Tighe 4x4 & Outdoor has relocated to a new showroom at 11 Mort Street, Newtown, as of early 2024. The updated space features over 30 diverse displays, combining practical setups and cash-and-carry options that highlight the best from our trusted suppliers. With a comfortable customer waiting area, four dedicated sales staff ready to assist, and plenty of convenient parking, the showroom is designed for a hassle-free experience. Just five minutes from Toowoomba’s town centre, it serves as a the ultimate destination for all things 4WD and outdoor within Darling Downs & connecting rural Queensland regions.

In more recent years the business has seen an increase growth in tourer build’s, specifically 70 Series LandCruiser’s. With builds now created for customers across Australia and as far as Mexico. We have truly fell in love with this side of the business. Testing the capabilities of what a 4WD can be, where it can go and what it can take with it all whilst working with some of the world’s best after-market 4WD products is a dream come true.

Owning and custom building our very own 79 Series and 78 Series was hugely beneficial in understanding these vehicles and their capabilities. In similar tone the vehicles changed our perspective on overlanding / 4WD adventure as a whole, taking us to places across Australia we wouldn’t have dreamed possible.

The 4x4 industry is ever increasing in popularity and along with this we are dedicated to continued evolution and expansion of the business all whilst maintaining the foundational ethics and attitude that helped grow the company into what it is today. In 2021 we began to embark on a new chapter in the company, Overland Tourers Australia otherwise known as OTA. With foundational goals to design & manufacture overlanding / adventure products for you and your tourer right here in Australia. From entire vehicle interior fit outs that provide comfort, storage & power for months on end to singular products, intended to seamlessly attach to your vehicle and further its functionality when adventuring.
